Satellite Drop is an Official Selection of the GI Film Festival
20 July 2018: Leirigh Films LLC announced today that the short film Satellite Drop is an Official Selection of the GI Film Festival. In it’s 12th year, the festival will be held on September 25-30, 2018 in San Diego this year.

“We’re thrilled and honored to be in the GI Film Festival. Satellite Drop was made for our military, as a way to give back with a bit of humor,” said L. V. O’Connell, Director of the short film.
Satellite Drop is a short film based on the true story of a young US Marine on his first tour of duty in Scotland. PFC Johnston (played by J Vasko-Benezek) and Sergeant Wright (played by Justin Savage) are tasked with Satellite Drop Duty. Their task takes them from one end of the base to the other to retrieve a canister of intelligence and deliver it to the Watch Officer (played by Jennie Olson Six) before time runs out.
Normally the GIFF’s flagship festival, held each May in Washington, DC. In past years the GIFF also hosted an annual west coast festival each October in San Diego in partnership with KPBS. With changes in the organisation the main festival will be held in San Diego for 2018.
