VFX Breakdown: Satellite Drop Rooftop

Visual Effects (VFX Breakdown) Military Rooftop in Scotland

Satellite Drop, a short film about a young US Marine on his first deployment to a military intelligence base in Scotland. The comedy was filmed in Southern California with visual effects to simulate the rugged landscape of Scotland.

We started with the actors who kept their performances in front of the green screen. The green screen was keyed out and a rough mask was used to take out the rest of the San Diego skyline. Then the background was replaced with a Scottish landscape. Poles were drawn in and atmosphere was added. Finally the clip was color corrected and graded to match the rest of the film.
